Embracing the Off-Season and Welcoming a Bountiful Harvest at Holden Lake Farm

As we wave goodbye to July—one month since we closed our retail Garden Centre—and welcome August, we at Holden Lake Farm are thrilled to share some updates with you. Life has been rejuvenating, allowing us to rest, catch up on home chores, and enjoy some much-needed sleep. The change of pace has been refreshing, but we’re excited to be back in the rhythm of strawberry picking and offering the fruits of our labour to our cherished community.

Farm Gate Hours and Self-Serve Strawberry Pick-Up

Our farm gate is open for self-serve strawberry pick-up from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. You can expect delicious, fresh strawberries ready for purchase at our retail till. When the gate is open, it’s your sign that strawberries are available and ready for you to enjoy. Our harvest is in full swing, so availability is great right now!

Assistance and Payments

For those needing assistance or wishing to pay by card, please check out the newly designed and printed sign by the self-serve counter in the store with a cell number to call. We’re also in the process of setting up a new phone line to provide more information and take order reservations. We appreciate your patience during the summer months when staffing levels are lower than usual, not just here at the farm but across the board.

Additionally, we are selling full trays of strawberries (12 pints per tray) for $60.

Upcoming Produce

In addition to our strawberries, we’ve been nurturing a variety of other crops in smaller quantities. We can’t wait to offer you raspberries, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers (both pickling and long English), and pumpkins at our self-serve front desk. It won’t be long now before these tasty treats are ready, and we’ll be sure to announce their availability as soon as they are ripe and ready for you.
