Greenhouse Worker/Garden Center Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a greenhouse worker and
garden center assistant. In this dual role, you will be responsible for both cultivating plants within our
greenhouse facility and providing excellent customer service in our garden center. The ideal candidate
will have a passion for horticulture, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic
retail environment.

Responsibilities:

Greenhouse Worker

  • Assist with planting, spacing, trimming and general crop care of our plant products.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the greenhouse, including proper disposal of plant waste and regular sanitation of equipment.
  • Picking plants when ready for sale, ensuring proper handling and packaging for transport to the retail store.
  • Assist with other tasks related to greenhouse operations and plant care as needed.

Garden Center Assistant

  • Greet and assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and other products in the garden center.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on plant care, gardening techniques, and product selection.
  • Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain attractive and organized displays of plants and products throughout the garden center.
  • Assist with receiving shipments of plants and merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory management.
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks in the garden center, such as watering plants, sweeping, and restocking shelves.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in greenhouse operations or horticulture preferred but not required.
  • Strong passion for plants and gardening, with a basic understanding of plant biology and cultivation techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks in a greenhouse environment, including bending and standing for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • No heavy lifting required (50lbs+)
